Interview with Gonzalo Boronat , director of GB Consultores

– The computer application “Comunidad Valenciana, SA” , in which GB Consultores has actively participated, is defined as an economic-financial Email Data analysis program. This is much more than a simple ranking of companies. Given the information contained and the functionalities it incorporates, do you share this criterion?

– Indeed, what differentiates it from other similar works is its depth, given that this tool has been developed so that the user can work on it later to the extent of their needs. It incorporates economic, financial, management, productivity, etc. ratios, and is expanded with economic-financial variables that allow an exhaustive study of company data.

Furthermore, in this version it is expanded to the comparative analysis of companies, which is very useful. This allows a search for potential clients or suppliers, a comparative analysis with direct or sectoral competition and a company-sector comparison. In short, we are faced with a very valid tool for all economic agents.

– The application has been built with the Annual Accounts deposited in the Commercial Registry. Can we consider this a good source of data to obtain a reliable “photo” of the business and economic reality of the Community?

– The Annual Accounts are the only reliable economic-financial information for the study of companies. It is information with the same format for all, the same accounting criteria and with a historical series that allows its analysis. It is the document used by financial entities, credit risk companies and suppliers, to study the financial position of companies and the only one valid for making decisions, so its veracity allows us to conclude that the “photo” is reliable to know the business reality of the Valencian Community.



– The time window chosen for data capture (2012-2016) falls on two clearly differentiated cycles: 2012 and 2013 we were still in a clear recession, and 2014, 2015 and 2016 are already years where the indicators tell us that we are growing again . Is this reflected in the aggregates of the 5,000 companies?

– Indeed, it is necessary to divide the analyzed period into two sections, given the general behavior of the economy, as reflected in the development of the data. In our report last year we already mentioned that, in 2015, Valencian companies had started on the path to profitability, with an increase in business volume, improving productivity and increasing their Ebitda and Profit. And all this with an increase in the capitalization of the companies. In 2016 we can affirm that this process is consolidated at all levels according to the analysis of the data, which shows the important work carried out by the companies.
