Patients hospitalized for Covid-19 continue to rise to 436 in Galicia, which is 21 more than at the beginning of this week; as well as active cases, which increase to 20,663 – implying 438 more; while new infections continue above 2,000. For its part, the positivity rate amounts to 11.2 percent.
According to the data updated this Tuesday by the Ministry of Health, with records until 6:00 p.m. on Monday, the number of people admitted to the ICU due to Covid-19 in Galicia drops to 18 – two less – and those hospitalized in units rise to 418. conventional –23 more–, while 20,227 patients are being monitored at home.
By health areas, hospital pressure is relieved in two of the seven: Ourense Telegram Number Data and Pontevedra-O Salnés; while it increases in the other five: A Coruña-Cee, Vigo, Santiago-Barbanza, Lugo and Ferrol.

Specifically, in Ourense the number of patients admitted for Covid-19 to the ICU has been reduced to three – one less – and to 58 those hospitalized in other units – five less –, while in Pontevedra and O Salnés one remains in critical condition. and those of other units drop to 43 – two less.
On the other hand, in Santiago and Barbanza, although Covid patients in the ICU have dropped to five –one less–, those in other units have increased to 81 –15 more–; and in A Coruña and Cee there are still seven critical cases and those in other units rise to 87 – eight more.
In the Vigo area there is one Covid patient in the ICU – he had been without one for several days – and 65 in other units – one more; while in Lugo one remains in critical condition and there are 45 in other units – one more. And the Ferrol area stands out as the only one of the seven Galician areas without patients in the ICU due to Covid – the previous day it had one – and registers 39 in other units – five more.

After the decrease in active cases at the beginning of this week, they rise again to 20,663, which implies 438 more than the previous day , as there are more new infections (2,290) than discharges (1,846), to which six deaths are added . A week ago – on Tuesday, March 15 – there were 19,483 active infections.
The increase is generalized in six Galician health areas, with Santiago and Barbanza leading (+181), followed by Vigo (+87), Ferrol (+71), A Coruña (+58), Lugo (+ 49) and Pontevedra-O Salnés; while active cases decrease only in Ourense (-29).
Thus, the area of A Coruña and Cee continues to have more active infections, with 4,368; followed by Vigo, with 3,826; Santiago and Barbanza, with 3,372; Lugo, with 2,472; Ourense, with 2,430; Pontevedra-O Salnés, with 2,195; Ferrol remains at the tail end, with 1,904.
